Haddington Community Development Trust
Notice of Annual General Meeting
The third Annual General Meeting of Haddington Community Development Trust (“the Trust”) will be held on:
Monday 15 August 2016 7.15pm at the Trinity Centre, Church Street, Haddington.
Doors open 6.30pm
All members and supporters are urged to attend. New members will be most welcome. To vote, you will first have to join or renew your membership for the year ahead. Please download a membership form here – HCDT Membership Form
Membership costs £1 per year for the year ahead only and the board would ask members to come only to register and to renew their membership.
There are several things we plan to do at the AGM. In particular, we’d like to highlight some of the work we have been doing over the last year, presenting and discussing progress in the following areas:
Haddington Town Website – raised as an important requirement for the town by CDT members at last year’s AGM, this AGM will present details of progress made on both a Town Website and a ‘Brand for Haddington’.
Town Access Strategy – an important issue in the Vision document from which the Trust was born, consultants were recently appointed to work with the Trust and East Lothian Council in order to develop this Town Centre Access Strategy.
Funding Criteria – as well as using funds to work on our own projects, we are also keen to help other local groups to realise their ambitions, and have been working on a ‘Funding Criteria and Application’ pack.
HCDT Self Funding – a long term aim of the Trust is to be self financing, and not rely solely on grant funding from other sources.
Membership Fee – we will also ask members to vote using clause 29 of the Articles of Association. If approved, this will allow us to remove the membership fee for future years. Clause 29 is detailed below:
“The members may vary the amount of the annual membership subscription and/or the date on which it falls due in each year, by way of an ordinary resolution to that effect passed at an annual general meeting.”
We look forward to seeing you on the 15th August.
Chair, Haddington Community Development Trust
