Owner of the Malt Kiln Gift Shop, 18 High Street Haddington
Why did you become involved with the board?
I became involved in the Trust as through my role as a committee member of HADAS I have been involved with the Vision for Haddington since its inception and I understand the purpose of the HCDT in realising the outcomes identified in the Vision for Haddington. I want to give something back to the town and I really believe I am lucky to work in such a beautiful historic town that is a good place but it could be really special.
What is your connection to Haddington?
I have run my business here for 22 years
What do you want the Trust to achieve?
The Trust was established to ensure ‘The Vision for Haddington’ – the Best Town Square in Scotland” is realised and I really believe given some time we can make this happen. The Town Centre should be redesigned and redeveloped into an attractive ‘place’ in which people want to spend time, linger, socialize and attend events that will animate and bring life into this space, generating footfall and vibrancy.
What else do you do?
I am also involved in Haddington Business Association, Haddington and District Amenity Society and i support Blooming Haddington.
