As you know, working closely with the local community groups is a core part of Haddington Community Development Trust’s (“HCDT”) aim in making the Vision for Haddington a reality. On behalf of the board we wanted to let you know about a key initiative, which we are about to undertake.
After a highly disciplined tender process the board unanimously selected Edinburgh based integrated branding agency Shaw to lead a project to develop Haddington’s brand – and also to lead the creation of a broader “Haddington town website”. The idea is that the site will include all of the town’s community groups and act as a valuable source of information for those who live, or who visit Haddington. Alastair Bruce, Managing Director of Shaw commented, “I’m delighted that my agency has been chosen to lead a project of such importance to my home town. What’s clear to all of us is that executing “The Vision for Haddington” belongs to everyone in the town. We’ll help the Trust engage with as many people as possible”.
HCDT director Duncan Scott added, “The decision to work with Shaw was unanimous – we believe that the partnership we have with them can really help us deliver some of “The Vision’s” key outputs. We’ll be in touch with our members in the very near future”.
We fully recognise the need for key stakeholders and the town’s community groups to be involved from an early stage in this process and we will consulting them soon to ensure these groups have input to this project. Many of you will know Alastair through his work for Haddington Pipe Band and Trad on the Tyne and the Board are confident his local knowledge and passion for Haddington will ensure delivery of a suitable brand and website for the town that is relevant for everyone who lives works and visits Haddington.
